In short: Starting and maintaining a digital game store is not an easy task – just ask Razer. The company's Razer gaming store will close next week, just 10 months after it opens.

At the beginning of April, the famous manufacturer of gaming peripherals opened his store. Unlike Epic's recent entry on the market, Razer's version sold game keys that had to be traded on Steam and Uplay.

In an attempt to appeal to users on its service, Razer has offered Silver loyalty credits for every purchase, which can be used on products such as Razer products, digital gift certificates, etc. In addition, anyone who paid with the Razer Gold virtual currency could earn even more Silver points.

Despite these incentives, which also include exclusive gaming discounts, Razer announced that the store would close on Feb. 28 at 4:00 am Eastern Time, as part of "Realignment Plans".

"It was a privilege for us to recommend and deliver great digital gaming offerings," he said. "We have been extremely fortunate to have you join our great community, and thank you for your support and for making this possible."

The move will not affect the games purchased through the Razer store, but the keys and coupons must be used before the service is permanently closed. Pre-ordered games will always be filled.

Anyone with Razer Silver can still use it after the store closes and Razer Gold will continue to work in the Razer Gold catalog.
