Razer launches the Razer turret, a wireless keyboard and mouse for the Xbox One video game console.
This means that console players will not necessarily be at a disadvantage in the world of cross-play, where PC players using mice and keyboards will compete against console players in shooting games such as Fortnite.
"We are extremely proud to partner with Microsoft to offer you this exclusive collaboration," said Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan in a statement. "With the Razer turret for Xbox One, it is now possible to take full advantage of the experience of a keyboard and a mouse, with lighting and integration of game to the Xbox One. "
The Razer turret is designed for couch games, with a 2.4 GHz connection via a single dongle for the mouse and keyboard, and a battery life of up to 40 hours on a single charge.
It features Xbox Dynamic Lighting lighting technology and Razer Chroma. Console players can now access the Razer lighting ecosystem with up to 16.8 million color options and lighting effects for the mouse and the keyboard.
Razer worked with the developers to integrate Xbox Dynamic Lighting and Razer Chroma support into the game, with titles such as X-Morph Defense, Vermintide 2 and others.
"Razer Chroma extends even further in the living room, building on Philips Hue's success in room lighting," Tan said.
The keyboard features Razer-grade mechanical switches with a lifespan of up to 80 million keystrokes. A dedicated Xbox key opens the Xbox One dashboard.
The mouse is based on the Razer Mamba Wireless gaming mouse and features an advanced 5G optical sensor and Razer mechanical mouse switches with a durability of 50 million clicks.
The surface of the mouse is hidden under the main body of the keyboard and can be extended and retracted for storage or loading. It features an integrated ergonomic wrist rest that extends from the base of the Razer turret keypad.
The Razer turret for Xbox One is fully compatible with Windows 10 computers. It will sell for $ 250 and will be available soon.
