Ernest Cline’s Ready Player Two is on sale now, but fans find themselves much less in love with the sequel than with the original novel.

Loan player two has finally hit shelves and readers are not very happy with the results.

Several Twitter users posted captions to the book, poking fun at author Ernest Cline’s use of pop culture references and the narrative itself. “I am happy to report that the first pages of Loan player two are beyond parody, ”one user wrote.

“This opening page is what it is to be stuck on a four hour flight next to a little kid who wants to tell you jokes all the time,” added podcaster Andy Ihnatko. “If you’ve ever considered your handwriting bad, please read this thread from Loan player two excerpts, feel your brain slipping out of your ears and consider yourself perhaps a golden god of writing, ”another Twitter user wrote.

These reactions are far from praise Player One loan received upon publication. Cline’s previous novel was to critical acclaim, securing the top spot on the New York Times List of bestsellers and even leading to a 2018 film adaptation of Steven Spielberg.

Loan player two takes place shortly after the events of Player One loan and follows Wade Watts / Parzival as he discovers another Easter Egg hidden in the digital OASIS by its creator James Halliday. Wade and his friends embark on an adventure to stop an opponent “who will kill millions to get what he wants”.
