As the Delta variant continues to spread in the United States, many vaccinated people are increasingly concerned about their chances of developing a breakthrough COVID case. While people who contract COVID after being fully vaccinated are highly unlikely to become seriously ill, most prefer to avoid becoming completely ill. Singer and actor Reba McEntire recently revealed that she and her partner Rex linn contracted COVID despite being fully vaccinated, and she took to social media to give her followers a crucial warning following her “no fun” case. Recently, McEntire made a live recording on TikTok. The country star gave his followers a tour of his home, showed them part of his partner’s kitchen, sang a song and, most importantly, warned his fans about the current dangers of COVID. “I just want to say one thing. It’s been a tough year, and it’s getting even tougher,” McEntire said. “You guys stay safe. Wear your mask. Do what you have to do. Stay at home. The singer then shared a glimpse of her own experience contracting COVID after being vaccinated.

“It’s not fun to get,” McEntire said. “I got it – Rex and I got it – and it’s no fun. You do not feel well. McEntire explained that even though she and Rex were vaccinated, they were still infected with COVID and developed symptoms. For this reason, she suggested that her subscribers “be protected as best you can”. This means getting the vaccine, but also wearing a mask and staying home when possible.
During the live broadcast, McEntire shared that his tour would likely be delayed as the number of cases continues to rise due to the highly infectious Delta variant. “We are currently planning to resume the tour in January, February and March,” she said. “We plan to be with Brooks & Dunn at Caesars in December – the first two weeks, almost three weeks of December. But we don’t know if that will continue.”

McEntire isn’t the only celebrity to contract COVID despite being fully vaccinated. Actor Kevin connolly, former E! News host Catt sadler, and actor Bill maher are just a handful of celebrities who have experienced groundbreaking COVID cases. Although the Delta variant may decrease the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing symptomatic COVID infections, breakthrough cases are still relatively rare. NBC reported that data from the Kaiser Family Foundation suggests that one in 900 people contract COVID after being fully immunized.
