Reba McEntire revealed that she and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, had recently tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated.

The 66-year-old country singer broke the news by appearing on a TikTok livestream where she explained to her fans how the two had to endure the effects of the coronavirus.

The Grammy-winning songwriter has been involved with his current partner since last winter, and they have stayed together while recovering from COVID-19.

McEntire began her post by noting that while the past few months have been difficult for many people, she was aware that the pandemic was not going to go away anytime soon.

She noted, “I just want to say one thing: it’s been a tough year and it’s getting harder again.”

The Tremors actress then bluntly told her fans to take all available precautions to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

“You guys, please stay safe. Wear your mask. Do what you have to do. Stay at home. Stay safe, stay healthy, ”she said.

The hitmaker also expressed that she and her 64-year-old beau had been infected with COVID-19 and recalled that the experience was particularly difficult.

“It’s no fun having that. I got it. Rex and I got it and it’s no fun. You don’t feel good, ”she said.

McEntire concluded the post by noting that although she and the actor received a vaccine before their diagnosis, they still contracted the coronavirus and expressed that she wanted her fans to be safe.

“We have both been vaccinated and have always received it, so stay safe, stay home and be protected as best you can,” she said.

The country singer and Linn first fell in love in January of last year.

Prior to becoming involved with actor CSI: Miami, she was married to her first husband, Charlie Battles, from 1976 to 1987.

She then married her manager, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989.

McEntire became closer to her second husband’s three children from a previous relationship, and the two went on to welcome a son named Shelby Steven in 1990.

Although the former couple remained strong for almost three decades, they broke up in 2015 and finalized their divorce that same year.

She then developed a relationship with Anthony Lasuzzo, although they eventually broke up in 2019.

McEntire and Linn started to get closer last January and were in constant contact during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During an interview with Good Morning America, the singer noted that her new relationship has provided her with a lot of songwriting material over the past few months.

“I’m in love, so it really inspires me to find love songs, to find happy songs,” she remarked.
