Federal authorities recall more than 14,000 pounds of beef and pork from a Denver processing plant manufactured after approved opening hours and without inspection.
Inspectors from the US Department of Agriculture learned Wednesday that raw meat had been shipped from Denver Processing without following normal procedures. The meat had already been shipped to stores in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming, according to a ministry alert.
Nobody reported illness due to eating food, the department said. Federal inspectors stated that there was a "reasonable probability" that meat consumption could cause illness.
The recalled meats include:
- Pork chop without sirloin
- Roast pork loin loins with the same expiry date
- Super Value Pork Dice Pack
- Boneless pork tenderloin
- Pork Loin Chops Boned Chops
- U.S.D.A. Choice Choice Beef Roast
- U.S.D.A. Top Choice Round Beef London Broil
All meats have an expiry date of April 18 and are marked "EST. 6250 "on the USDA inspection mark.
If you have one of these foods in your refrigerator, the federal authorities ask you to take it back to the store or to dispose of it.
