Tyson Foods recalls chicken strips that may contain metal, federal food safety officials said Thursday.
The recall involves approximately 69,093 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strips manufactured on November 30, 2018, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Food Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. in a press release.
Recalled products include: Buffalo-style fully cooked Tyson chicken strips in 25-ounce bags, fully cooked and crispy 25-ounce Tispon chicken strips and fully cooked Buffalo chicken strips in a holster 20 pounds.
All affected products have an expiry date of November 30, 2019.
FSIS has discovered the problem following two consumer complaints about foreign materials in chicken strip products, the agency said. Consumers are urged to discard or return products that may be impacted and not to consume them.
No case of illness or injury resulting from the consumption of these products has been confirmed, FSIS said.
