You can only hold the duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum for so long.

Lillard had 29 points, McCollum 33 and the Portland Trail Blazers used a solid third quarter time to bring down the Oklahoma City Thunder from Rose City, 114-94.

Here are the takeaways tonight:

  • Second half, two games in advance: The two teams tied for 54, with Oklahoma City in the lead. The Blazers reversed this trend in the third quarter, beating the Thunder 37-21. McCollum had nine during the quarter, Seth Curry struck twice in a row and Lillard released Raymond Felton, Blazer's enemy, uncomfortably beating the bell.
  • Ovation standing for Meyers Leonard: With accumulated fouls on both sides, Meyers Leonard was in a hurry to play. He responded with some of the best man-to-man defensemen of his career, and timely rebounds to give the Blazers the edge they needed.
  • Foster's Home for Imaginary Fouls: Referees and Chief Arbiter Scott Foster whistled early and never let go. The teams were called for 29 fouls in the first period and 52 in total, not to mention the technical fouls against Zach Collins and Markieff Morris. The pace of the game has changed radically: Enes Kanter, Al-Farouq Aminu, Russell Westbrook and Terrance Ferguson all had trouble with the blame.
  • George to assume the charge: Despite a shoulder injury, Paul George led the way for the Thunder, scoring 27 points on 11 out of 20 shots.
  • Three points favor Portland: The Blazers fired 13 times out of 32. The Thunder shot 5 of 28, and dropped to 10 of 61 for the series.
