Red Dead Online players finally get solo missions

Players can now participate in “A New Source of Employment,” a type of mission that places players in a single player lobby for a dangerous scenario.

These missions are delivered by telegram, so the cowboys can pick up the message at a camp or post office. From there, the telegram will be available in the player’s satchel. You can replay a Telegram mission, and they will increase in difficulty (and rewards) with each rank.

So far, three telegrams are available. The first asks the player to intercept a horse sale, tame a wild white Arabian racehorse, and then take him to criminal contact. So far, taming horses hasn’t been a big part of Red Dead Online, so it’s cool to finally see that play a role. In the second mission, a player strips the mayor of Saint-Denis of some gems, which looks like a promising mini-heist. Finally, the third mission escorted you to a wagon, protecting the driver from attackers.

The new version hints that future Telegrams may be multiplayer, but these missions take players to their own lobby. These missions are now live in the game and are open to all players regardless of their rank or resources. Rockstar is also offering a week of bonuses for the role of Naturalist, including a reduction of 10 gold bars on the Naturalist sample kit and double rewards for free roaming missions.
