Report: Red Sox prepare to make ‘series of moves’ that originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
So far, the offseason has been relatively calm for the Boston Red Sox, but it looks like there will be fireworks soon.
ESPN’s Buster Olney reported on Tuesday that the Red Sox “have talked about a ton of possibilities and are preparing for a series of moves before spring training begins.”
Tomase: Will the FA market start to heat up for the Red Sox?
Re: Industry sources, there’s a feeling the Red Sox have talked about a ton of possibilities and are bracing for a series of moves ahead of the start of spring training. They haven’t done much yet but are expected to try to upgrade the squad of 21.

The Red Sox are rumored to be interested in several free agents over the past month, including right-hander Jake Odorizzi and veteran reliever Alex Colomé. Former Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber and outfielder Yasiel Puig are also reportedly on their radar.
And then there are the commercial rumors of Andrew Benintendi. Boston is in “serious negotiations” to trade its local outfielder, according to reports.
Obviously, there are a number of directions the Red Sox could follow before spring training begins next month. While the signings of outfielder Hunter Renfroe and right-hander Matt Andriese are a start, there is still a long way to go if Boston is to be a serious contender in 2021.
