Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran needed three games, but he was finally on the board with his first career homerun on Monday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Duran hit an opposite–Home run for Ross Stripling who barely crossed the fence in left field. Still, it mattered and it was the 24-year-old’s very first home run.

“It’s a count that works in my favor – I was hoping for a fast pitch and I had a fast pitch – and it was also good pitch, it was high and far. I’m just happy to be stayed with that and went the other way around with it and I didn’t try to overdo it, ”Duran said after the game, via NESN.
“I didn’t think I had him, I thought maybe over his head for a double or something,” he added. “But it was good to trot on the bases, like I had done something to help the team get two points on the board earlier.”

Duran’s home run in the first inning was part of an eight-point first inning. The Red Sox beat the Blue Jays, 13-4. He finished 1 for 16 with two RBIs and two strikeouts.
Hunter Renfroe, Enrique Hernandez, Rafael Devers and Danny Santana each completed home runs in the match.

Nick Pivetta was credited with the victory. He allowed four runs on 11 hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four batters and walked two more.
