Red Sox Wrap: Boston Brings Rain, Leading Dodgers 8-1 in Pause Return | Red Sox Wrap

Well, it certainly was not a bad way to start the second half.

After the all-star break, the Boston Red Sox hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers for a rematch of the 2018 World Series and dominated the best 8-1 baseball team on Friday night at Fenway Park.

Eduardo Rodriguez highlighted his best start to the season, tying a career-low setback record and enjoying two homestyles at the start of the Red Sox to win his 10th win at the top of the season.

A late seventh in the rain set things back by one hour, but the Red Sox offensive was developed late to ensure victory.

The Red Sox climbed to 50-41 with the win while the Dodgers dropped to 60-33 with the loss.

Here is how it all happened:

GAME IN A WORD
Revolve around.

A sound performance of the break, is this the beginning of a big second half?

ON THE BUMP
– Rodriguez had a good start in the second half.

The South winger achieved a superb performance by throwing 105 throws in seven innings of work while allowing only one in five hits. Rodriguez lined 10 while he was walking two.

The only leftist race on the left handed was Alex Verdugo, who slipped over the short fence in the right corner of the field.

– Josh Taylor gave a 1-2-3 eighth.

– Hector Velazquez has launched a ninth spot.

IN THE BATTERY BOX
– Rafael Devers headed back to where he stopped before the All-Star, running home over the Green Monster to give the Sox a 1-0 lead in the first run.

– Christian Vazquez, the other Red Sox all-star, joined the home run in the second run when he sent one over the monster to bring it to 2- 1.

– Kenta Maeda, the Dodgers coach, qualified a little further, throwing three consecutive scoreless innings before the Sox got another round in the sixth.

Mookie Betts led the inning with a double, then switched positions with Devers after sending a Monster ball, bringing the score to 3-1.

– The Red Sox brought the rain to the seventh. Literally.

As a heavy rain began to fall, Brock Holt doubled to beat Jackie Bradley Jr to pass the score at 4-1. The game was then stopped for a rain delay.

After and hour, the game resumed with Betts placing another round on a sacrificial fly.

Then, after Devers was intentionally walked, Xander Bogaerts opened the scoring with a three-point homer that just creaked over the Monster to take him to 8-1.

– Devers and Vazquez paced things with two hits. J.D. Martinez, Michael Chavis and Andrew Benintendi were the only Red Sox not to succeed.
