They say that hitting is contagious, and that was certainly the case for the Red Sox on Friday.
Boston used 16 hits, including six at home, to blow the Baltimore Orioles 13-2 in the opening match at Camden Yards. Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez each had three hits.
Eduardo Rodriguez gave the Red Sox seven solid points of a ball for one point to win his seventh win of the season.
With the win, Boston rose to 37-34, while Baltimore fell to 21-48.

ON THE BUMP
– The Orioles attacked Rodriguez early, while Trey Mancini smoked a solo shot in the left field for his 15th circuit of the season.
