In 2019, the Cincinnati Reds celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings, with a series of regressive uniforms marking various eras of the Reds' history.

This weekend, facing the San Francisco Giants, the Reds will begin their series by wearing the uniform from 1902 on Saturday night before taking a ten-year lead until 1911 on Sunday afternoon.

The 1902 set is cream in color and includes the old-fashioned baseball collar, a half-button jersey and, surprisingly enough, a front pocket. "CINCINNATI" is bent on the front in red, the caps are cream with a series of vertical red stripes and a single horizontal stripe at the junction of the crown and the visor. The back of the jersey is just the number of the player in red, no name.

Cincinnati Reds:

The Reds wore this style during home games in the first year of the baseball stadium called "Palais des Fans". Without doubt the most distinctive stadium ever built, palace architecture is inspired by the great temples of ancient Greece and Rome. In doing so, spoke of the status of baseball both in Cincinnati and in the country.

The Reds will wear this uniform for their match on Saturday, May 4th.

For Sunday, the Reds will go on until 1911, wearing all-blue uniforms, including blue pants.

The style of the half-button jersey remains, but the pocket and the giant collar are gone. The blue denim blue top is adorned with a red piping that stems from the collar of the buttons on the front, an embossed Reds logo on the left chest top in red and blue and a another red "C" triangle on the left arm. The player numbers on the back are white, endless, nameless. The cap is blue with the Reds "C" on the crown and a single red horizontal line down.

Reds:

During the 1911 season, during the first two decades of the twentieth century, the Reds adopted a blue denim color scheme for their road uniforms. While the Reds limited the all-blue aspect to this relatively compressed period, the club's incorporation of a shade of blue in its uniform color scheme was repeated until the mid-1960s.

Cincinnati will wear 15 return uniforms total during the 2019 season, the full schedule of matches below.
