Reed Sheppard accepts Kentucky Basketball’s offer

And There you go. Reed Sheppard officially has an offer from the UK. All it took was for the Kentucky coaching staff to see it with their own eyes.

Sheppard, a 2023 combo guard class rated by Rivals as a four-star rookie and the nation’s 39th best player, announced on Twitter on Friday that he had received a scholarship offer from head coach John Calipari and the University of Kentucky. The North Laurel product is exploding in Birmingham, Alabama, where it put on a show Thursday night at the Adidas 3SSB event.

Calipari brought in his top three assistants – Orlando Antigua, Ron Coleman and Jai Lucas – to watch Sheppard live and in person for the first time on Thursday. Coach Antigua also stayed to watch Sheppard play on Friday afternoon.

The staff were clearly impressed with what they saw. Sheppard, who scored 23 points in a basketball halftime on Friday, is one of the few aspiring high school students to have received an offer from the UK.

If the noise surrounding Sheppard’s recruiting wasn’t already loud enough, it will only intensify from now on.
