Reflections on a Rangers 10-2 victory

• Drew Smyly needed a solid day and he had one. Rougned Odor also needed a solid day, and he also had one.

• Smyly came off the list of injured today and it was without a doubt his best outing of the year. With the team wanting to limit it to 60-70 shots, Smyly shot 68 throws in 4 innings, walking 2, giving 2 hits (including a home run to Eric Sogard that made the wall shudder) and pulled out 5 For Statcast, with the exception of the Sogard home run, which had an exit speed of 95.2 mph, no balls in play against him had an exit speed greater than 86.7 mph, nor a batting average greater than .120.
