Refresh Google Rolls Out Play Store

The Google Play Store on Android and Chrome OS has undergone a visual redesign this week with a new look and new navigation.

"The Google Play Store has over two billion active users a month looking for the right app, the best game, and other digital content," wrote Boris Valusek of Google. "To enhance the overall store experience, we are excited to complete a complete visual overhaul. In harmony with the Material design language, we introduce several user updates to create a cleaner premium store, which improves application discovery and accessibility for our different user groups. "

Here is what is new.

Material design. Like other recently redesigned Google apps, the Play Store now features a minimalist, white-heavy design that uses color to call "action" elements.

New navigation. On Android phones, there is a new navigation bar at the bottom of the screen with items Games, Applications, Movies and TV and Books. On tablets and Chrome OS, it's on the left.

Update store lists. When you view an app or game in the shop, you'll see a new presentation with richer information at the top and more visible (and similar) installation buttons.
