Samsung is ahead of its formal IFA 2019 press conference with some ads of home appliances. They only concern Europe, but AirDresser, an independent closet that can steam clean your clothes, could be more appealing.
The AirDresser is similar to LG Styler and the low end, now interrupted Whirlpool Swash dry cleaning appliances at home. The idea is to hang your shirts, your suit pants, your sweaters and your delicate clothes inside these devices, which then use a heating process or steam treatment to clean them.
The Whirlpool Swash-based heat was the first to be marketed in 2014 for $ 500. It was followed a year later by the high-end LG Styler, which debuted at $ 1,999.
Samsung has not announced any price for the AirDresser, but it seems closer to the styler in terms of design and target consumer. Imagine the executive who spends a lot of time on the road, but who may not be high enough in the company's food chain to be assigned an assistant to handle household chores such as doing laundry or stop at the laundry. Business hotels catering to this clientele are also a target market.
Samsung has provided many features in uppercase to the AirDresser. A JetAir system and air hangers inflate your clothes with fast air speed. The Jet Steam system disinfects and various driers and filters complete the experience. This is very similar to LG's competing product.
Samsung does not always provide price and availability details at trade shows, but it is stated that the AirDresser will be on display here at the show. We will continue in more detail tomorrow, once Samsung opens its booth.
