Emmy winner Guardians lead and One night in Miami Director Regina King Will Do It Saturday Night Live will start tonight and bring love before Valentine’s Day.
SNL dropped promotions for the final episode, starring King, musical guest Nathaniel Rateliff and actor Beck Bennett. In the first promo, all three explain why February in New York is “the most magical time of the year”.
“The wind, the cold, the slush,” King lists.
“The sun sets at 4:30 am,” Rateliff adds.
“Regular season NBA games,” Bennett continues, until King says the list of positivity that’s missing amid the coronavirus pandemic “doesn’t work.”
“Yeah, the power of positive thinking, my butt,” Bennett says.
The second, brief promo, focused more on Valentine’s Day with Bennett throwing the teaser asking King to be his Valentine. When the Golden Globe-nominated director replies, “Of course I will,” Bennet realizes he made a mistake. While it might appear that he asked the Oscar-winning actress to go on a date, the question was actually directed to his wife, who he was phoning through a hidden air capsule.
“Wait, are you for real?” He asks King, before hanging up his wife. “Uh baby, sorry. I found someone else. Must go.”
