Regular season history ends with Bedlam Sweep

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma's No.1 1/1 softball team defeated Oklahoma State No. 12/13 on Sunday to win 7-1 and 6-1 at Cowgirl Stadium.

The Sooners finished the competition for the Big 12 regular season with a perfect 18-0 record. After becoming the second conference team to be undefeated in last year's regular season, the OU 2019 campaign marks the first time in league history that the Big 12 team is undefeated two seasons right now.

In total, OU has won 43 consecutive conference games. The Sooners are undefeated in their last 54 Big 12 series (50-0-4 over this period), winning or splitting each series since 2011.

The Sooners have now won 38 straight games, a record winning streak that is tied for the second-longest record in the NCAA Division I. In addition, 38 consecutive wins are tied for the longest winning streak in a season in the history of DI softball, which matches the South Carolina race in 1997.

Oklahoma finished the regular season with a 48-2 record, earning them the best record of 50 games in school history by beating the team's record of 47-3 in 2018. The winning percentage of 0.96 in the regular season in 2019 is the best in the history of the program.

Grace Green followed Alo with a circuit to his left, good for his 14th round of the season. It was the second time this weekend and the seventh time this season that two Sooners are scoring consecutive circuits.

For the second time in the double program, the Cowgirls registered on the board with a home run while Chyenne Factor hit a solo shot on the left at the bottom of the second.

The post-season game begins next week as the Big Six's top six teams face the Big 12 tournament of 2019 at the US Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City on Friday-Saturday. As champions of the Big 12 regular season, the Sooners will be the No. 1 seed of the tournament.
