MTG Arena will be available on mobile for the first time and will be rolled out in the Google Play Store as an “Early Access” system. This will be released at the same time as Kaldheim – January 28, 2021!
Some key points:
- Release date: Android Google Play Store on January 28, 2021, after maintenance on MTG Arena when the Kaldheim patch was released.
- Cross-platform support: Individual client settings on PC and phone (such as Avatar and Pet) may be different from device to device, but all progress is saved to the account. Only one account can be logged in at a time.
- iOS: Coming later this year “.
- Specifications: The Early Access app will require more “high-end” phones for about two years. The goal is to reduce specs when the game is fully launched on mobile. For this first run, Wizards targets 30 FPS and a minimum reading time without a problem. That said, you can risk it by directly downloading the APK of the app even if your device does not officially support it and trying it out.
More details are expected to be released with the January 2021 State of the Game. Below is the official announcement from the Wizards of the Coast:
Vikings. Gods. Myths. Legends. Mobile.
As announced, MTG Arena will soon be available in the palm of your hand starting with Android Early Access on January 28, with an additional Android device and iOS support later this year.
The app will be available to players whose mobile devices meet our recommended specifications for Android, anywhere MTG Arena and the Google Play Store are currently available. Our Android Early Access will include cross-platform support and all maps and formats available in MTG Arena, including the next version of Kaldheim.
We want fans to have fun and enjoyable experiences with the long-awaited mobile version of Magic, and we want to make sure our versions are polished and ready to play. Stay tuned for more information to come later this month in our January State of the Game.
