Black Ops Cold War’s mid-season update is coming soon, with a host of new content for players to enjoy.

Treyarch has finally announced the release date for the massive new Mid-Season 1 update and it’s coming sooner than players expected.

The update will include new content including a new map and new game modes. However, they haven’t mentioned anything about solving the biggest problem of the Cold War, which is ruining the game for many players.

New Fireteam Map: Sanatorium

Cold War’s mid-season 1 update will take players to the new sanatorium map. Set in the Ural Mountains, chances are it will be part of the rumored new Warzone map.

Centered around a massive Brutalist sanatorium, the map will also feature a lake and dock. Players will also be able to use the new Tactical Raft vehicle to cross the lake and navigate the map quickly.

New 6v6 multiplayer mode: Dropkick

Dropkick is a high stakes fight for a super powerful briefcase containing nuclear launch codes. After a rush to grab the briefcase, teams will have to protect the wearer to earn points.

The transporter is also equipped with a mega-powerful pistol to fight enemies who try to steal their briefcase. The first team with 200 points throws an atomic bomb to win the game.

This exciting new mode should make players look forward to the mid-season update for Cold War.

New Cold War Zombies Mode: Cranked

Cranked is even more frenetic than your standard Zombies game. Players will have to constantly kill undead to prevent the countdown from reaching zero.

If the allotted time is up, the game ends with the player exploding. The mode also features a special Cranked power-up that will give players a much-needed break.

Players are hoping that Sniper Rifles will be upgraded in Zombies before Cranked goes live in Mid-Season Update 1.

Cold War Midseason 1 update release date

Treyarch announced in its new patch notes that the update will be released on January 14.

This will be a full update that players will need to download, rather than one of the small patch updates when the game launches.

A new playlist update is also live in Black Ops Cold War, with exciting new game modes. Don’t worry, Nuketown is staying for now.

Recently, there has been a lot of controversy with Cold War and Warzone weapons. This Blueprint increases damage and has better recoil than the base weapon – do Blueprints pay to win?

While it wasn’t announced in the mid-season update, it looks like the Cold War will get a riot shield soon.
