Remains found in Arkansas identified as Maleah Davis, age 4 | WBNS-10TV Columbus, Ohio

HOUSTON (AP) – Authorities say the remains found in Arkansas last week were identified as those of a missing 4 year old Texas girl.

The Harris Institute of Forensic Sciences said Monday that the remains were those of Maleah Davis.

Authorities found his remains near a highway outside Hope, Arkansas, after Derion Vence, the man arrested after Maleah's disappearance, told a Community activist that there was disposed of his body.

The Institute of Forensic Sciences says that the cause and modalities of his death are not yet determined.

The remains were flown back to Houston after their discovery in Arkansas on Friday.

Vence, the ex-fiance of Maleah's mother, had claimed that Maleah had been abducted last month. Vence remains imprisoned for falsifying evidence.
