The human remains discovered Saturday in a remote area of Oregon probably belong to the missing actor Charles Levin, known for his television roles including "Seinfeld" and "Night Court," according to police.
Levin, 70, was reported missing Monday by his son after not having been in contact for several days. He was from the southwestern part of the state, The Oregonian reported.

Levin owned a 2012 Fiat and was "almost always" in the company of his pug, the Grants Pass public safety said in a press release.
One resident found Levin's car on an isolated and almost impassable road on Saturday. The soldiers found the remains of Levin's dog on Saturday. Teams looking for steep and rugged terrain found human remains.

There is a "high probability" that the remains are those of Levin, announced Sunday officials. The medical examiner will proceed to the final identification.
