Renée Zellweger and Sam Smith duet on the soundtrack of Judy Garland

Renée Zellweger recorded very special duets for Judy's new album.

The Academy Award-winning actress will play a life-time role at the end of the year as she stars as Judy Garland, Hollywood legend and LGBTQ legend, for a new biographical film inspired by her recent London concerts. 1969.

Renee has recorded some of Judy's most popular numbers, including For Once in My Life, Come Rain or Come Shine and Over The Rainbow for the film's soundtrack, due out on September 27th.

It is now announced that the album will also feature two very special duets: Renée will join Sam Smith for a "totally unique" version of Get Happy and will team up with Rufus Wainwright for a "beautiful rendition" of Have Yourself A Merry. Christmas

"When I was 17, I did a project on Judy Garland for my film studies degree. I was immediately immersed in Judy's magic and her incredibly brave and triumphant story, "Sam explained.

"She remained one of the icons of my life. She was one of the bravest humans and her vulnerability and artistic honesty still give me goosebumps the way she did the first time.

"It was really an honor to sing with Renee. No one could have interpreted Judy as well as Renee, and it's a highlight of my career singing with her and, to a certain extent, with Judy. "
