Rep. Pressley does not belong to AOC, Omar and Tlaib

Looking at the group of four women responding to President Trump's already famous tweets, which urged "progressive" Democrats to "return" to their "home country," one wonders why Massachusetts representative Ayanna Pressley would like to be grouped with the other Three.

Pressley's remarks were liberal, but limited and worthy of Trump's comments. The other three Democrats treated the situation very differently, combining begging, defamation and radicalism in a way that Pressley should not want to be associated with.

Pressley has never even used the words "racist" or "racism". Using these words correctly, she accused Trump of having made "xenophobic and fanatical" remarks. It is far from being quite defensible, far more defensible than the representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota accusing Trump of "white supremacy" and a "nationalist white" program.

Omar also repeated the accusation, without the slightest evidence, that children detained at the US-Mexico border are forced to drink water from toilets. She repeated, despite all the evidence to date, that there is "credible" evidence that Trump illegally "colluded" with a foreign country. And, without giving a single example of Trump having committed "serious crimes and misdemeanors," she called for the dismissal of the president. All these statements or suggestions are completely unfounded.

Michigan representative Rashida Tlaib also called for the dismissal. Like Omar, Tlaib did not make any specific allegations that could constitute an imprescriptible offense. It's irresponsible. The impeachment and dismissal process is a serious matter. The general obscenity, of which Trump is certainly guilty, is far from being a generally acceptable reason for dismissal.

Then there was the famous advertising Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who throws around balderdash like a toddler throwing tense peas. Not content with blowing up the president, she accused her education secretary, Betsy DeVos, of working with Trump to turn the country's education system into a corrupt "cash cow" for their own enrichment. It is pure and simple slander. She also accused Trump of believing that Americans do not deserve health care. It's laughable.

On the whole, although they seemed to want to restrict their remarks somewhat, representatives Tlaib, Omar and Ocasio-Cortez showed why their radicalism made them deeply unpopular with the American public. This is all the more reason for Pressley, who, even in pointed remarks, remains within the limits of ordinary civil discourse, to speak alone without associating with the three awakeners.
