Report: Charlotte wins women's title at SmackDown in "last minute"

Did Charlotte Flair catch you off guard to win the Asuka SmackDown Women's Championship (March 26)?

There was a good reason for this, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Radio Observer. It was not planned until Tuesday morning:

"This decision was made at the last minute. It was literally made this afternoon or this morning. I heard about it a few hours before the show. Not exactly. I did not say what was happening. It was only said that things were going to happen that would affect[[[[WrestleMania 35]and of course it's the matches, the match for the women's title of SmackDown is over, it looks like. Well that's it. That's out.

The reaction of the women who were supposed to fight for the right to challenge Asuka in Mania would also seem to support him. The tweets of Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose and Naomi are in line with this exchange that Carmella had with a supporter. "The plans have changed" to take last night's 4Way and a chance of a single match at MetLife Stadium next weekend would explain their surprise and disappointment:

What does this mean for the future of the blue brand belt? No word yet, but I hope they will understand it before Sunday, April 7 in the morning.
