GAINESVILLE, Florida – Florida could start the season earlier than expected.
The Gators should face their American rival, Miami, in the opening game of the season this season. However, according to a report from the Orlando Sentinel, the two parties could meet a week earlier on August 24, instead of the scheduled month of August. 31 date.
If both programs were to play at an earlier date, Florida and Miami would need the approval of the NCAA – an approval from the governing body would allow both teams to start the camp early in the fall .
The game will take place at Camping World Stadium this summer. This will be the first meeting between the Gators and the Hurricanes since 2013 – Miami won in Miami Gardens, Florida.
