The family of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant have reportedly asked NBA teams and the league not to pay tribute on the first anniversary of Bryant’s death.
Bryant tragically died in a helicopter crash last year on January 26.
If you notice, a lack of official tributes from organizations and #NBA this week for Kobe Bryant, it’s because his family asked the teams not to pay tribute this year. @ kron4news

Bryant’s death has rocked the basketball world, but it seems his family isn’t comfortable with the league honoring him just yet.
In addition to losing Bryant, his daughter Gianna was also in the crash with him.
As the Bryant family mourn their loss, it’s nice to see the league honor their wishes.
The elder Bryant was a five-time NBA champion with the Lakers and one of the greatest players in NBA history.
He has been an All-Star 18 times and is expected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
