Just minutes after the team officially announced that Aaron Glenn would be the next defensive coordinator, reports on Twitter that the Detroit Lions have also chosen their next offensive coordinator.
As Athletic’s Michael Lombardi first reported, the Lions are finalizing a deal to hire former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn as the team’s next offensive coordinator. .
Lynn has been the Chargers head coach for the past four seasons, leading the team to a 33-31 record and a 1-1 playoff record.
Prior to his stint with the Chargers, he had been in the coaching ranks of the NFL since 2000. He served as a running back coach for the Cowboys, Browns, Jets and Bills. He was also the Bills offensive coordinator in 2016.
It should be noted that like head coach Dan Campbell, Lynn comes from the coaching tree of Bill Parcells. With both coaching and playing experience as a running back, it will be interesting to see if he brings a priority attitude to Detroit.
