Report: Microsoft jumps in the train of wireless headphones

It seems that Microsoft will expand its range of audio equipment. Last year, the company launched Surface Headphones, a pair of premium noise canceling wireless headphones with built-in microphones. According to a report by Brad Sams on Thurrott.com, they will be accompanied by a set of wireless headphones.

Apple AirPods have made wireless headphones the essential accessory. Amazon should release its own headphones connected to Alexa, and Samsung has its own Galaxy brand headphones. Distinguishing traditional headphones, they all contain microphones for you to talk to Siri, Alexa or Bixby. Cortana would be an option for Microsoft, but it is more likely that you are talking to Siri or Google Assistant, given the diminishing presence of Cortana.

Microsoft had already marketed headphones: the Zune media player came with headphones with a simple but ingenious feature: the headphones were magnetic and would clash against each other. The result? Much less cable entangling when you put them in your pocket or bag. Surface headsets seem to be competitive compared to other noise canceling headphones: their wireless range is excellent, the noise cancellation is solid and their volume and noise reduction dials are pleasant to use, but their autonomy of the standard audio support is low. As such, Microsoft is not totally devoid of experience in this area and has shown that it can design thoughtful and compelling designs. Of course, it remains to be seen how the presumed earphones will stand out from the crowd.

The existing surface helmet was codenamed Joplin, asking the question: Janis or Scott? Atria clearly explain the answer to this question. they are apparently codenamed Morrison, as in Jim, which means that the over-the-ear headphones are clearly named Janis. Sams says that "Surface Buds" has been proposed as a commercial name, with a possible launch in 2019.
