Bloomberg released a report on Wednesday with new details on the new, more powerful Nintendo Switch model rumored to have been dubbed the Nintendo Switch Pro by fans and gamers alike. The outlet first reported on the improved Nintendo Switch model in 2020, although reports have been circulating for years.

According to the report, Samsung will soon begin production of “7-inch OLED panels, 720p resolution” for the device. The new Nintendo Switch model will also come with “ultra-high definition 4K graphics when paired with televisions,” Bloomberg sources said. Nintendo and Samsung declined to comment on Bloomberg’s report.

Nintendo has repeatedly denied the existence of the so-called Nintendo Switch Pro. Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser told Polygon in December that the company is “still looking” for how Nintendo can “improve the gaming experience,” whether on the “current platform” or on a ” future platform ”. Bowser also told Polygon that the Nintendo Switch is “in the middle of this lifecycle”.

In February, during a call for financial results, Nintendo chairman Shuntaro Furukawa said that Nintendo do not will announce an upgraded Nintendo Switch model “soon”.

But Nintendo’s history includes many improved models of existing platforms – like the New Nintendo 3DS XL. The company also has a bunch of games coming to its platform this year, many of which were announced during a Nintendo Direct in February. Although there hasn’t been an update on Nintendo’s future Breath of the wild continuation, there are lots of games on the way.
