According to information, LeBron James will not change his jersey number during the next season, as previously planned, for lack of Nike's approval.

James wore the No. 23 jersey in all his NBA seasons, but he spent four years at the Miami Heat, where he was number 6. Number 23 is what Anthony Davis has worn throughout his career. To welcome his new teammate to the Los Angeles Lakers, James was going to give Davis the number 23 and probably return to number 6.

However, Yahoo's Chris B. Haynes reported Friday that the change of jersey would not happen. Haynes reported that the application was received after the March 15th deadline. The league would have allowed the change if Nike manufacturer had approved it, but this is not the case, citing a major financial loss.

According to ESPN, Nike could lose "more than tens of millions of dollars" thanks to LeBron James jerseys No. 23 Lakers already produced.

One player has the opportunity to buy the jerseys as we have seen, but James has chosen to keep his number out of respect for fans who have already bought his Lakers jersey and to avoid controversy, Haynes said.

Now, we are waiting to see what number of jersey chooses Davis.
