Report: Rainbow Six Quarantine renamed “Rainbow Six Parasite” as image surfaces

[ad_1]

Announced in 2019, the news of Rainbow Six Quarantine really did not surface last year, apart from being mentioned that it was postponed to “the first half of 2021” during Ubisoft’s quarterly earnings call.

While Ubisoft has been silent on any new details, it looks like the publisher is moving forward with the game, as a file has been uploaded to PlayStation Network! This file numbers the game version as 1.01 and cites it as “Initial Release Patch”.

Further researching we found what appears to be an image of the PS4-owned file of the dashboard icon, startup and data backup, and the mention of Rainbow Six Parasite, which could be the new title of Rainbow Six Quarantine! Note that Ubisoft has confirmed that it is considering a name change and is moving away from “Quarantine” given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Check out the images we got below.

The splash screen that PS4 players will see. Also the data backup icon.

On top of that, we also managed to get a picture of the remote play feature using the PlayStation Vita, where it is also referred to as “Rainbow Six Parasite”. Unfortunately, there is no description of what each button does.

Here’s the official description of the game when Ubisoft revealed it:

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine ™ is a 3-player team-based survival FPS developed by a brand new team from Ubisoft Montreal.

Rainbow Six operators will face a mysterious threat infecting human hosts and their environment. Prepare to embark on tense, chaotic, and completely unpredictable missions as you and your team risk everything every time you enter quarantine.

If Parasite is indeed the final title, it is the one that fits, and indeed does the trick to distance itself from COVID-19.

We have contacted Ubisoft and will update the article if we get a response.
