Report: Vikings to release Laquon Treadwell if business partner can not be found

The news is not surprising, but it's still a bit depressing and sad for fans of the Minnesota Vikings.

Numerous sources report that the Vikings informed broad receiver Laquon Treadwell that he could not find a trading partner before the end of the central team list scheduled for 15:00.

Treadwell was the first-round pick of the Vikings (23rd overall) in the 2016 NFL draft and never really took off in Minnesota. He had only one shot in his rookie season and finished his career in purple with only 56 catches for 517 yards and one touchdown.

You never want to apply this tag to your team's drafts, but it's hard not to consider Treadwell as one of the biggest busts in recent Vikings history. He will likely have other opportunities given his first-choice status, but these opportunities will not be with the Minnesota Vikings.
