Arsenal lost a two-goal advantage at halftime as Sokratis and David Luiz's mistakes allowed Watford to score his first home point of the season in a 2-2 draw.
The Gunners seemed to be in vogue when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored two goals with our first two efforts on target before squeezing the self-destruct button. Tom Cleverley reduced the deficit as we offered the Hornets a goal from our own goal, before Roberto Pereyra, countered by Luiz, nine minutes from the end of the match.
The home team should have scored all three points, but despite 31 efforts, she could not win in the first match of Quique Sanches Flores at the head of the match.
First half
In the absence of injured Alex Lacazette, Unai Emery chose to select Mesut Ozil for the first time this season. The German was sitting at the head of a field field where Dani Ceballos was playing on the right. Lucas Torreira had to settle for a spot on the bench.

The goals got the better of Watford, but we have always had some problems. Guendouzi had a farting brain on the edge of our box that led to two attempts by the Hornets. Maitland-Niles gave the ball to Deulofeu and allowed Deulofeu to go to Luiz – the Brazilian resisted the temptation to nibble – and Kolasinac gave a silly free kick.
The half-day was closed with some handbags while Pepe ended up putting Holebas in check and being shoved by Guendouzi. Some other players piled up. The yellows went to the French and the Greek.
Second part
Having been the man of the match against Sp * rs, it is fair to say that Guendouzi did not have his best game here. A suicidal pass through our box – similar to the one played by Ceballos at Anfield – raised heartbeats. Once again, Watford failed to capitalize.
In 54 minutes, we made it easy for them. Leno played a three-meter goal to Sokratis who tried to find Guendouzi on the edge of the box. Her pass was intercepted by Deulofeu, she fell under the control of Cleverley and the former Manchester United man was sent back to Leno. It was a silly game. The type of error that costs you points. Only one team seemed to win the match. And it was not the team in the pretty red shirts. Deulofeu, Cleverley, Janmaat have all had chances before Doucoure, far in stoppage time, has the best of the lot. His shot was low and true, but Leno strove to protect the point. The final whistle was a relief.
We may have scored two goals, but that should not overshadow the fact that this is one of Emery's worst performances. We were awful. Individual mistakes have cost us the points again, but you have to look at the manager and ask him what kind of football this team is supposed to play. The players do not seem to have a clue.
