Lt. Col. Stu Scheller could face a heavy prison sentence for speaking out against the withdrawal of the army from Afghanistan and Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, is demanding freedom and fair treatment for the Navy.
Gohmert revealed on “Fox & Friends Weekend” that after his visit to Scheller in the Brig, the naval officer seemed in good spirits and was surrounded by fellow military members who “really love him”. But the problem lies in the top military leadership and its priorities.
“We found out that they had undergone psychological surgery in an attempt to turn social media against him,” he said. “It’s amazing. Instead of worrying about the well-being of their troops, they worry about their behavior on social media.”

Scheller himself shared the same sentiment in the viral video that got him in trouble. The Navy released its public statement on August 27 expressing how it believes the leadership should be held accountable for the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, which has left 13 servicemen “to die in vain” and thousands of Americans and Afghan allies. blocked.
Instead of the military negotiating an honorable discharge for Scheller, the Navy’s parents said on Friday that the Marine Corps was aiming to “burn our son.” Gohmert explained that even allowing Scheller to resign would be a punishment, but military leaders say “it’s not enough”.
