A Wisconsin congressman announced on Sunday that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and was showing mild symptoms.

Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) Said in a statement he tested positive on Sunday after experiencing symptoms after returning to Washington, DC. He added that he would quarantine at him.

His diagnosis comes as Washington, DC and Wisconsin have seen increased rates of new confirmed cases of the virus in recent weeks.

In Wisconsin, more than 376,000 total cases have been confirmed and the state is now reporting about 7,000 new cases per day. Washington, DC, health officials are reporting just over 100 new cases per day, a rising rate that has so far remained below a peak the city experienced earlier this year.

The United States has now seen more than 12 million cases of COVID-19, and more than 250,000 Americans have died from the virus.
