The search continued on Sunday morning in search of a 5-year-old girl living in Utah and reported missing on Saturday, and the police identified her uncle as the "main suspect" of her disappearance .
Family members told the police that Elizabeth Shelley, of Logan, had been last seen at 2am on Saturday, when her mother had gone to bed. When she woke up around 9:30, Elizabeth was gone, along with her uncle, Alex Whipple, 21, who had gone home Friday night, the Logan Police Department said. Logan is about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Whipple, who according to police is the prime suspect, was later found while he was walking alone in the northern Utah city and was arrested on Saturday.
Police said he was still not cooperating and that he had been sentenced to Cache County Prison for violating probation.
"What is unfortunate is that all adults are taken into account," Logan Police Captain Tyson Budge told NBC affiliate KSL in Salt Lake City on Saturday. "So obviously, the conclusion is that she is very in danger."
Whipple was in possession of "certain items", such as clothes, which, according to the authorities, indicate that the "uncle" was with her after he had said, "said the captain from the police to the convenience store.
Authorities said Sunday that they could not disclose more information about Elizabeth's disappearance, citing an ongoing investigation.
"We know that there are many who want to help and some are thinking of helping by publishing their concerns about the details of this investigation," Logan Police Department said in a tweet. "They do not have all the information because we can not disclose anything that is relevant to the investigation."
The FBI helps Elizabeth search.
Elizabeth is 3 feet 6 inches tall and has curly brown hair up to the shoulders, a restless fringe and brown eyes.
