Update: Screen Gems and Constantin Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City goes to Wednesday, Nov. 24, leaving its Labor Day weekend outing. Zombie video game feature adaptation reboot will be against United Artists Releasing / MGM Gucci House and Disney animated feature film Charm on its new date.

The move comes after Disney ditched Marvel Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings Labor Day weekend this year – which is amazing considering how the box office really fell over that weekend (unless the studio has an alternate plan to put the film in theaters and on Disney + Premier).

Previous update, February 4: Constantine’s news resident Evil distributed by Sony Screen Gems is slated to open on Labor Day weekend, September 3 of this year. Paramount’s Donkey is the only other major studio release planned at that time.

This is the movie we told you about which is an origin story starring Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia and Neal McDonough. The story takes place on a fateful night in Raccoon City in 1998 and is directed and written by Johnannes Roberts.

Robert Kulzer, James Harris and Hartley Gorenstein produce. The EPs are Martin Moszkowicz and Victor Hadida.

Sony has the film in the United States, Elevation in Canada, Constantin in the German-speaking countries and Metropolitan in France, Sony taking care of the rest of the world.

The previous six resident Evil the films grossed a total of $ 1.2 billion at the box office in theaters worldwide.
