Socialist Jean Shafiroff, who hosts a cable access show while juggling a busy schedule in the Hamptons as a board member of several charities, told us, “There is a such a frenzy in the Hamptons right now. Everyone wants to party. There is a lot going on. Every time I go back to New York, I look forward to going back so that I can relax. It is very pleasant, but I fall back asleep a little. It’s kind of like that now, ”she said.
A highlight for Shafiroff this summer was “meeting Liev Schreiber at a major donor party at Joey Wolffer’s home for Stony Brook Hospital Southampton,” she told us.
Sadly, she had to dive in and head to another party for Long House Reserve, so she pulled her signature escape move.
“[I] went to the bathroom and changed into this big polka dot confection. I think they all thought I was going to a costume party – or something crazy when I left that group, ”she said.
But others are choosing not to hang out with celebrities according to another source, who told us some summer residents are staying and already preparing to return home.

Denise Rich will add to the oversaturated party scene when she brings her annual Angel Ball to Southampton on August 20.
The ball, which usually takes place at Cipriani Wall Street, will honor Simone I. Smith and Maye Musk. “Today” contributor Jill Martin will host and guests such as Tamron Hall, Lorraine Schwartz, Star Jones, Flo Rida, DJ Cassidy, Mary J. Blige and Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch are expected.
