Respawn confirms Seer’s nerves after new Apex Legend dominates Season 10 meta

Seer has taken Apex Legends Season 10 by storm. The latest Legend to fall in Apex games may be a little too strong though, having dominated the meta since launch. Respawn is going to tone that up with some urgent nerves.

It didn’t take long for Seer to topple the Apex Legends meta.

The new Recon Legend has practically overtaken the game – and not just because it’s the new one. His top-notch intelligence gathering has propelled him to the tier list in the eyes of pros and casual alike.

Why would you play Bloodhound or Crypto when Seer exists? This has been the overriding question at the launch of Season 10, and it’s a question Respawn is ready to answer.

Seer is a little too strong at the start of Apex Legends Season 10, and Respawn is planning nerves for the new legend.

Travis Nordin, the designer of Seer, admitted that the Legend launched with more power than expected in Apex Legends. So they’re giving it a tune-up in an “upcoming patch” in potentially days, not weeks, before the mid-season update.

“Seer threw hard which was the hope. He also brought a lot of new gameplay elements to the game (HP bars, interrupt) which sparked a lot of discussion with players which is great to see” , Nordin said during an Aug. 6 Reddit AMA.

” That being said [he] is probably a little too strong at the moment and will receive balance updates in a future patch.

While Respawn wanted Seer to be good, they didn’t want him to be broken. They wanted it to be a long term choice, not just one “where they got picked a lot the first week and then they fall into the dark.”

Players shouldn’t expect “fundamental changes” to Seer’s kit. However, unnecessary power like the flashbang on his tactics will be removed.

“I will say the on-shot flash ended up being way more than we expected and we will be removing that aspect of the capability entirely,” said Nordin.

Respawn also plans to adjust the readability of the Seer Kit so that you can clearly distinguish your ally’s abilities from the 19 other Seers on the map.

“We wanted to differentiate the abilities of enemy / allied Seers with the addition of the red tint applied to the visuals. I know readability has come up a few times with the VFX for Seer, and we’ll be looking at them to see what can be done to help with that, ”he added.

We’ll keep you posted with a full list of Seer’s changes when they stream live in Apex Legends Season 10.
