Attention, Xbox fans: The $ 499 Xbox Series X (with the $ 299 Xbox Series S, its less potent little brother) was officially released on Tuesday, November 10, and it’s available for purchase in stores – if you can find one. Gamers around the world can now buy the new console that Microsoft touts as having “four times the processing power of Xbox One.” It also delivers backward compatibility with the vast majority of Xbox One games (anything other than a Kinect title), and even some original Xbox 360 and Xbox titles.

Guess you weren’t able to pre-order an Xbox back in September – the pre-order window was a bust for most people. But will you be able to hook up a console now? This is an excellent question. Unlike Sony, which led a online launch only for the PS5, Microsoft has stocked shelves online and in-store. But as you browse the web and physical stores for inventory, change your expectations. We anticipate limited quantities for the rest of the year.

To that end, here is a list of the main retailers selling the Xbox Series X. Our advice is to look for the retail price of $ 499, and avoid expensive retail bundles (which include superfluous controllers, accessories, and games).

Best Buy was the last retailer to return for pre-order in September, but now stands ready for your Xbox Series X purchase, as inventory permits.

Amazon will sell the cheaper Xbox Series X and S Series from that same product page.

Walmart is doing a solid job noting windows of availability for PS5 and Xbox on its Twitter feed. You can also visit the retailer’s Xbox landing page for the two new consoles.

GameStop had boasted “very limited number of Xbox Series X and S consoles bundles to buy” but these are currently sold out.

This is Target’s product page for the Xbox Series X.

This is where you can buy the Xbox Series X from Newegg when the retailer has inventory.

If you want to get the latest information on the Xbox Series X, there’s probably nothing better than Microsoft’s Xbox Series X home page. Here you’ll find the latest specs, announced game titles, details on the new controller, and more.
