Kickoff of the 2019 Women's World Cup

the FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 Italy and Australia played in a tight and competitive match, while Brazil dominated Jamaica with a hat trick from a veteran star. England beat Scotland in the third and final game of the afternoon.

England beats Scotland 2-1

In a long-standing rivalry, England beat neighboring Scotland in the last game this afternoon. England took control of the game early by taking a 2-0 lead in the last 15 minutes of the match. England scored in the 14th minute of a rebound for Nikita Parris' penalty kick and in the 40th minute with the goal of Ellen White. Claire Emslie of Scotland scored a goal at close range in the 79th minute, but it was too little, too late. England dominated possession of the ball and the number of completions.

England came in third place in the 2015 Women's World Cup, losing a tight semi-final match against Japan. This year marks their fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament. France 2019 is Scotland's first participation at the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Italy beats Australia 2-1

Italy made an impressive turnaround Sunday by winning its first match of the FIFA Women's World Cup since 1999 with a win over Australia in overtime. In a painful and physical match with a total of 39 fouls combined, Italy emerged victorious from Barbara Bonansea's victory in the 94th minute.

It was an exciting match. Australia scored the first goal on a penalty kick in the 21st minute, but made a mistake on its own territory in the 55th minute, allowing Italy to draw. In overtime, Bonansea is busy with the rest to stun Australia and give the Blues their first win in 20 years.

Brazil beat Jamaica 3-0

The Brazilian quickly beat Jamaica behind veteran Cristiane Rozeira, who scored three goals at 15 minutes, 50 minutes and 60 minutes from the end. Brazil dominated the ball control, holding the ball for 62 percent of the match. They scored 19 shots on goal, against 14 for Jamaica. This match marked the debut of Jamaica in the Women's World Cup. With the victory, Brazil now leads Group C.
