Welcome to UFC, Tristan Connelly.

The 33-year-old Canadian was summoned to Vancouver just five days in advance and stepped into the octagon to become the biggest outsider on the map. Fifteen minutes later, Connelly earned his first victory at the UFC after getting a unanimous decision against the future hopeful Michel Pereira.

"It feels like it's only a beginning," Connelly said after the win. "I know I deserved to be here a long time. Tonight was my chance to prove it. "

It was a flashy movie blitz of Pereira as soon as he was released from the corner. The Brazilian has disengaged several times and even a knee that sent him over the head of Connelly.

Despite all the explosive strikes, Pereira did not land much and Connelly did a good job of avoiding any real contact during these exchanges. When Pereira finally started communicating with his hitters, it was a basic kickboxing attack, but Connelly refused to leave.

Every minute, it seemed that Pereira's gas tank ran out of water as Connelly began to increase his performance, including a ground run where he hit the Brazilian with several scathing balls.

Pereira slowed significantly in the second round as planned, but he still managed a takedown that put Connelly on the ground, which gave him more time to find oxygen in his lungs.

Pereira stayed heavy at the top to prevent Connelly from escaping until the horn rang to lead the fight on the last lap. His strategy has changed dramatically since wild openness while Pereira was focusing on a heavy fight attack, but he was still struggling to keep Connelly under him.

In return, Connelly began following Pereira with all his arsenal trying to reach the finish after accepting this fight with less than a week's notice. Connelly almost had a guillotine constriction, then went under the control of the highest regularity, striking Pereira with strikes putting the Brazilian in survival mode.

When the final horn sounded, Connelly raised her hands in the air so that the judges would register the fight 29-28, 29-27 and 29-27, all in her favor, while the rookie of the 29 UFC had a significant impact during its first appearance.
