Braunwyn, 43, recently renewed her marriage vows to her husband Sean Burke with whom she shares seven children during an episode of her reality TV show Bravo.

In addition to the GLAAD interview, she also shared a photo on Instagram and explained her new status as a lesbian.

“It’s so good to finally live my truth. I’m a lesbian, ” she captioned the snap.

“ At 43, I was finally able to come to terms with this part of myself and realized that there were no rules about when someone should go out. It’s my time. ‘

In the interview with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation – known as GLAAD – Braunwyn proudly said that she loves women and that she is gay.

“I’m a member of the LGBTQ + community,” she told GLAAD’s Anthony Ramos. “It took me 42 years to say it, but I’m so proud of where I am now. I am so happy where I am. Being comfortable in my skin after so long is so nice.

Through her Sobriety Journey – which was documented in RHOC Season 15 – Braunwyn said she discovered she had feelings for a woman.

“I met someone with whom I wanted to have a relationship,” she explained. “It became something that I didn’t want to hide anymore and that I didn’t want to keep a secret anymore.

She added, “ I love Sean. I like him very much, he is my person, he is my family. But I’m not attracted to men, and never have been.

Braunwyn said she plans to stay married to Sean, whom she describes as her best friend, and raise their children together.
