Rich Eisen contracted COVID, despite being fully vaccinated

Sports broadcast legend and NFL network host Rich Eisen have tested positive for COVID despite being fully vaccinated.

Eisen announced on his Instagram this morning that he was battling symptoms and on day four of his quarantine, after contracting the virus that has changed the world in deadly ways since early 2020.

“I can personally attest that you should always be careful and, most importantly, get vaccinated. Why? Especially since mine didn’t keep the COVID out of my body? So there are no more variants to break through highly effective vaccines that would normally bring us all back to normal life. But if you want a perhaps a little more personal answer: get yourself vaccinated so you don’t go to the hospital or die.

Eisen alludes to research surrounding the virus and its effects, as well as the Delta variant which is now the dominant strain in the United States and is more likely to be contagious. According to a Last week’s Yale Medicine study, unvaccinated people are most at risk of contracting COVID, as is the case with other strains, but also said the Delta variant is expected to lead to “hyperlocal epidemics.”

Eisen then added the following on his IG post: “Every medical professional I have met in the past few days tells me that the two Pfizer shots I received in February are what keep a man away from a man. 52 year old like me worse experience than terrible one so be careful if you get vaccinated and, if you are not vaccinated don’t wait another second.

Eisen’s message and experience is a reminder that the pandemic is still ongoing, and just because people get vaccinated doesn’t mean the worst is over. After all, no vaccine has 100 percent efficiency rate, but they, especially Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, increase your likelihood of immunity or your ability to fight disease if it is contracted studies continually show.
