Richard Buckley, fashion editor and husband of Tom Ford, dies at 72

Richard Buckley, longtime editor of a fashion magazine and partner of designer Tom Ford, has died. He was 72 years old. Ford representatives issued a statement Tuesday morning: “It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the passing of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley. Richard passed away peacefully at their Los Angeles home last night with Tom and their son Jack by his side. He died of natural causes after prolonged illness. Buckley worked as editor of fashion magazines for two and a half decades, as editor of Vogue Mens International, social editor at Vanity Show, and fashion editor of Daily women’s clothing, among other publications. Ford and Buckley often referred to their relationship as “love at first sight” in interviews. The couple met in 1986 in an elevator down from a fashion show, got married in 2014 and have an 8-year-old son together.
