The good doctorRichard Schiff announced Tuesday evening that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The actor’s wife, Sheila Kelley – who co-starred on the ABC drama as the wife of Schiff’s Dr Glassman – also tested positive.

In a subsequent Instagram post, Kelley explained Schiff’s announcement. “We are quarantined in our home in Vancouver, recovering,” she explained. “This virus is a slippery sucker. One minute you almost feel good and the next you can’t catch your breath. Symptoms change dramatically on a daily or even hourly basis. “
According to a Good doctor source, the show’s shooting schedule has been adjusted to accommodate Schiff’s temporary leave and there has been no noticeable impact on production. Representatives for ABC and Sony Pictures Television declined to comment.
The good doctorThe two-part premiere of Season 4 tackled COVID head-on, chronicling the first months of the pandemic from the perspective of frontline workers in Saint-Bonaventure. Starting with Episode 3 (airing next Monday, November 16), the medical drama will enter a post-COVID world, but will continue to battle the current and actual pandemic with a PSA ahead of each episode featuring the star of the Freddie Highmore series.
