Rick and morty hosted a special global celebration panel during the Virtual Adult Swimming Festival, and it was here that the cast and crew behind the show celebrated not only the show’s fourth season, but the reach of the favorite adult swimming as a whole. During the panel, the cast and crew also shared a bit of what fans can expect to see from the show’s fifth season. While they can’t go into too much detail, series co-creator Dan Harmon has noted how the new season will explore Space Beth (the cloned or non-cloned Beth that brought her back to the series during the season 4 finale). Scott Marder, producer and writer of the series, said fans will also receive more canonical content in the new episodes.

“There is epic canon in Season 5 ahead,” Marder said, “Fans are going to love being bowled over by the canon we’re about to hit them with.” Elaborating further, Marder couldn’t go into much detail, but relayed his enthusiasm for the new season: “I’m a huge fan before I even got to be on the show, so to be able to write for it, I can fuel my excitement to love this show before I can write for it.
